Markets open in green, Sensex up above 100 points

30-share BSE Sensex opened more than 170 points in the green at 34,651.82. The broader 50-share NSE Nifty too was gaining to the tune of 0.20 per cent and testing 10,350-levels. The global cues, however, were discouraging with Asian shares hitting 17-month lows. All sectoral sub-indices trading in green with metal and pharma leading, only Nifty Auto in red.
