Sensex closes 175 points in red, Nifty above 10,300

Sensex lost 174.99 points to close at 34,299.47 while the broader 50-share NSE Nifty finished at 10,301, down 47 points. A little after mid-day, the markets had stabilised at previous closing levels after being volatile till then. However, in the last 30 minutes, Sensex and Nifty saw heavy losses.
