HCL buys select IBM's products for $1.8 billion

HCL Technologies upping its game in security and commerce has bought seven IBM products for $1.8 billion. The broader business strategy is to modernise these products with clients and take them to the cloud. On the contrary, IBM has acquired Red Hat in a whopping $34-billion deal to accelerate its efforts towards open-source software and technology.
